Filters and Segments

Filters are organized in different categories, and each category contains several different rules. Recordings can be filtered using multiple rules across different categories.

When you add an additional rule, the filter follows the logic AND. If you want to filter recordings on March 22, 2018 (1) from visitors located in the UK (2) that lasted at least two minutes (3), your filter should look like this:

The filter above will only retrieve recordings that satisfy all three rules. You can also use multiple rules within a filter category. For example, a filter for users that visit your features (1) and pricing pages (2) — both of them — should look like this:

Within a category, you can also combine rules in a disjunctional logic (OR). So, for example, if you want to search for visitors that come from a Google or a Facebook ad, you can use the following filter:

This filter rule will get recordings from users that either come from Google ads (1) OR Facebook ads (2).

When you apply a filter, you can also save it as a segment. This will generate a shortcut that you can use any time without having to set the filter manually whenever you want to see the visitors that fulfill a certain condition you’ve already saved.
